I mean it this time, i think.

I had this stroke of genius in 2009, and due to poor laziness it has never materialized. Its 2013 and I start again, this time armed with things to review! and a recipe too!

My mom and i decided to make aloo paratha (aloo roti, potato roti) the way she used to make it as a kid growing up in Guyana.

We boiled baking potatoes and peeled them. Mashed them up with coriander, ground garlic, peppers, garlic salt, and finely ground cumin. Mom hand kneaded the roti dough and left it to rise for a few minutes. We sectioned off the roti and then stuffed them with the potato mixture.

I rolled them out with a rolling pin while mom heated the tava, and we cooked our perfect fuffy aloo parathas! I will try to post a pic later as right now i'm too full and cant move XD

Yesterday I was at CVS and stumbled into their beauty clearance sale. I bought 38 items and im fighting the urge to open EVERYTHING lol.

I settled with opening my Rimmel Clean Finish Foundation in 420 Warm Sand. I have never seen a foundation with a dipper. The cap has a very helpful, very functional spatula attached. I am usually a MAC or Sacha makeup user, but since my skin is very resilient, im open to trying anything. As I am usually an NC44 in MAC I found the color of the Rimmel to be slightly too light. I will use it in the darker areas under my eyes and around my nose, as it blends nicely.

I also bought a gel glitter eye shadow called Crystal Eyez from Milani in 05 Delightfully Dazzling. I am a fan of glitter shadows, but deathly afraid of fallout. I was immediately excited by the consistency of the gel shadow but not so impressed with its application. I applied a champagne-peach powder shadow underneath and used a concealer brush to apply the gel over it. It immediately started caking the powder. I will try it again and hope for better results next time...

blogging day one

i've always wanted to write a blog. but i just dont know about what. i thought about a theme - like my barista job, or my school, or just new york city in general.

but i think this is a better idea - reviews! i have lots of opinions on things. i comparison shop like crazy. i even review restaurants online. so why not review on my own site...
